textmock✳

Your conversations stay yours.

Textmock is a tool for making fictional messaging scenes. The editor saves your current draft in this browser. You can clear it using your browser’s site data settings.

Sharing

A shared link contains the entire scene in its URL fragment, including text, names, references to local media, any older inline photos, and external media links. Local files are not included in a shared URL; use a scene backup to send them. Anyone you give the link to can read and edit a copy. The full scene fragment is processed in your browser and is not sent in the page request. Shared URLs also include a small preview of the first two messages in their query string. This preview is sent to our host and to social services that generate link previews. Use invented details in scenes you share publicly.

Accounts and payments

Hraness Accounts provides sign-in and subscription management. Payment details are handled by Stripe. Textmock checks your account’s subscription to enable paid features. See Hraness Accounts privacy information.

Media and hosting

Photos you choose from your device are resized in your browser and saved in browser storage alongside local video clips; they are not uploaded. Scene documents contain small content hashes that reference these files. Clearing site data removes local media, so download a scene backup first. Externally hosted images and video clips are loaded from the URLs you add. Their hosts may receive your IP address. Vercel hosts this website and processes standard request information to deliver and protect the service.
